three (?) things to natter about

- Shoulder is feeling better. Still have not added in *all* the exercises I stopped doing, but I'm getting there. Plank 'lifts' were added Saturday; wall-pushups yesterday (eventually i'll get back to the kitchen counter, and p'raps even the bench); shoulder high rotations with no resistance. And I only say ow when I'm doing something I expect will be pinchy (folding queen size bedding, putting a box on an upper shelf), not when getting dressed or putting dishes away.

- J is turning into a geezer.

- Hiking boots arrived last week. I wore them at the gym on Friday, just to see if they'd bother my feet or knees or back. so far, so good. Still haven't worn them outside. They have a fairly aggressive tread, and will probably not slip on a muddy road or trail. Now to wait for it to get warm enough for me to walk outside.

- Mum went to Florida to visit her sister. She'll be there through the end of February, probably. She's basically just changed COVID bubbles, as AC rarely goes anywhere (lives alone and doesn't drive anymore - post concussion syndrome). AC didn't get to Boone in 2020, and is somewhat bummed by that. Mum says that she didn't get the first stage vaccine before she left because she'd not be there for the second one. They told her that she'd be first up when she got back to pennybyrn.

Clothing at (Store) is overpriced! Erm, no. Clothing at (Store) is pretty much priced at MSRP [which is easily checked, because they carry brands that also have retail websites] or a reasonable retail price (as compared against similar clothing at other retailers). He hasn't bought real clothing (tshirts or work trousers at Menards or cheap crap from Walmart don't count) in 15 years, and even then he thought it cost too much. Decent clothing is going to cost more than the stuff from Walmart. And last longer, too. (He's that way about pricing on a lot of things - his idea of what things other than electronics 'should' cost is stuck in the early 1990s.)

He wears long underwear or fleece-lined jeans to sit inside. In his office, which gets full sun, and even when it's not sunny is 68F or so.
"But it's cold outside!"
yes, but you're not outside, are you?
"But I might go outside and I don't wanna change!"
You need long underwear under your jeans to go outside for 15 minutes when it's 20F?
He's gonna turn into one of those old dudes who wants the house at 75F, I just know it, and I'm gonna die! (exaggeration for effect. I will not be happy, though.)

He's not shaved since before Christmas. I don't like it. It's not groomed, and it's patchy grey and brown and just looks like he's being lazy.

Yeah, maybe so. Maybe he should shop at thrift stores.

I am wearing long johns right now, but I have always been headed down the path of being an ancient tiny crone who wears white sweaters in the summer.
