There were a pair of doves standing in the birdbath yesterday morning, keeping their feet warm. Today, they were in one of the trees.
I saw a few red-winged blackbirds this morning when I went out to feed the birds. I think that there were at least a couple of them here yesterday, as I heard them while I was bringing the feeders in.
J saw and heard cranes in the air yesterday. Haven't landed in the yard yet, but that's just a matter of time.
Apparently, all they were doing was running a new topline on the high tension pylons. The pulleys, isolators, and orange warning wraps are all gone.

Date: 2020-02-24 01:58 pm (UTC)It was warm and sunny on Sunday, so now the only places there is snow is where it didn't get sun - the front yard is still snow-covered out to the shadeline from the house, and the field behind the house still has snow. It's less deep than it was, because it was 50F, but most of the field is shaded by the woods to the south at this time of year - the angle of the sun is quite low.
