I've gotten one flowerbed cleared out. Still a bunch to go, but this one was the most overgrown -- the thicket of alliums, Oriental lilies, and blackberry lilies makes it nearly impossible to weed most of the summer. The others I've been able to keep up with, for the most part.
Yesterday, SR and I went off to watch the UMich marching band and guests field rehearse for today's halftime show. The NY Philharmonic is in town for a residency, and will be perfoming with the MMB at halftime. It's also Homecoming, so there's alumni. And since it's already a light drill show, why not add the Choral Union (and alumni) and the brass from the School of Music? To be fair, the finale pretty much requires french horns -- mellophones don't have the right sound.
