Even More Spring!
Apr. 20th, 2008 03:38 pmFrog eggs -- dotted black lines in the water. Lots of frogs chirping, and a toad (or three) trilling. SR and I counted three toads and four frogs earlier today.
ETA: they're toad eggs, not frog eggs. We saw the toads laying them, and there's a lot more than there were this morning!....
The forsythia bloomed overnight (some of the buds were beginning to open yesterday, but most of them are wide open today). The hyacinths are blooming, too.
Prom dress shopping! Successful, even. It was a bit spooky, as we found a dress that she really liked at the first place we went. And it fit! (OK, it's a bit long, but I can fix that.) Then we found shoes that went with at the shoe store just down the mall. And then we came home and discovered that her BGF had nearly bought that dress for -her- prom dress. Fortunately, M found a different dress that she liked better, so there will not be a Bobbsey Twin thing going at prom -- that would be a bit embarrassing. (there's one other HS girl on the street, but SR and M barely even talk to O, so if she shows up in the same dress as either of them it won't be a problem.)
Then we went and looked at the wetland on the south end of the mall, and counted a dozen turtles, three geese, two swans, and a couple of swimming mammals -- we weren't able to identify them, as they were too far away, nor could we see where they climbed out.
