Sigh. Another OTC pain med gets crossed off the list, at least for anything more than once a week usage. grumble. I hate side effects. After two days on the standard dose of naproxen, I hit the "side effects greater than relief" stage. And then it took 24 hours to get back to 'normal'. My back is still annoyed with me for overdoing it with the singing and playing last weekend, but not enough that I want to deal with the side effects from the NSAID. (I can still take acetaminophen, but it doesn't do anything for the underlying inflammation, just makes some of the pain go away.) I've not been able to take ibuprofen for at least 5 years, even though it works (a headache that lasts for 36 hours is not worth it). I tried a bunch of prescription NSAIDs last year. Only one of them worked, and it had side effects that I really, really didn't like.

Birdies: I moved the the feeders around so that both of the finch feeders are hanging on the same pole, and now they're both getting emptied at similar rates. The woodpeckers and bluejays don't seem to mind that I moved the peanut feeder farther out from the house and put it on the pole with the seedcake. Yesterday there was a jay on the peanut feeder at the same time there was a downy on the seedcake. The cardinal and his lady were back today, as were a half dozen mourning doves. I see the crows a couple of times a week, although they don't usually stay very long. It's possible that they come every day and I just miss them. The juncos are really fond of the tray feeder. Oddly enough, the jays haven't found it -- they've found the suet cake right next to it, and you'd think that they'd prefer a tray feeder to perching on the edge of a house-style feeder, but not ours.
