The new FCB uniform polo already has snags in it. I've worn it twice, washed it twice, hung it on the line. I don't know if the snags are from my instrument or from the gear I haul, but it's still very disappointing.

J was ick last week - low grade fever, generally blah. Not covid, at least according to the home tests we had. He volunteered to host August SEMGS, so he's starting to clear his crap off the main floor. There's a box that's been in the way for over a year that he's finally taken care of. It's so weird, not having to step around it. I don't know what his plan for SEMGS is -- it looks like it might be hot, so we may be inside. Or maybe he'll put up the canopy that I think is in the garage. I know that one of the canopies went off to the church because they needed it. (we had two at one point because he forgot to pack the one we had one year when he went up to the AP, and "had" to have one on The Sands...)

I've been doing a bit of weeding every day, but it's still getting ahead of me. I took a few days off while I was dealing with some dermatitis, but once that cleared (and the FCB season was over so I have time), I had to get back to it. We've gotten no rain in the last couple of weeks, so the ground is drying out and it's getting harder to pull things out.

just because

Dinner tonight will be jambalaya (sausage only, no fish or shrimp as J won't eat it).

Dinner tomorrow:
  • pulled pork (I found a small shoulder roast at the grocer - the boston butt in the freezer is from 2015(!), and while it's been frozen solid all that time, I don't want to chance it. I'll probably throw it into a slow cooker anyway, just to see if it's edible. if so, I'll freeze that and we'll eat it later.)

  • roasted veg - carrots, potato, broccoli. thought about cauliflower, but the stuff at Meijer looked a bit damp, and the stuff at Polly's was pricey!

  • roasted apples

  • cornbread from scratch. hope the baking powder is still good. I did buy a tube of crescent rolls just in case

  • tossed salad

  • J mentioned that the cider mill's last day was today. I said I wasn't going out. He didn't find it important enough to go out himself.

Huge snowflakes yesterday, then they got to be more normal size, then they turned to freezing glop. Then it warmed up enough that it's all melted and it's raining now.
