again with the rain.
Jun. 29th, 2021 02:19 pmI guess we're catching up on the rain we didn't get in April and May.
Yesterday's FCB rehearsal was cut short because there was a lovely dark cloud approaching. (and we could hear lots of thunder, although the lightning was all cloud to cloud.) The rehearsal space didn't get wet, but there was a rainbow on my way home. The weather gauge says we've gotten over 6 inches of rain this month. Fortunately for us, it's fallen slowly enough that it's all soaked in. Areas to the north and east of us have not been so fortunate - although no-one I know has been flooded, a camp bus driver friend said that they had to rejigger their drop-off route on the fly last week, as roads kept getting flooded.
There is a LCCB concert in the park scheduled for tonight, but the weather peeps are saying that it may well be raining then. We shall see. I have my gear ready to go either way.
DB tells me that the Jiffy silo got hit by lightning in the squall line that just went through. (OK, I suspect it was actually the lightning rod on top of the Jiffy silos that got hit, but still...)
Toyota dealer says the car is on a truck and may be here by the end of the week. Which probably means that it's got a truck allocated to it, but they still need to figure loading and delivery (which is actually the other way around - once they know where the truck is delivering to they can load it).
The furniture store says that my chair was loaded onto a truck in NC three weeks ago, but their warehouse hasn't gotten it yet.
