First outing. Yay!
Aug. 17th, 2005 02:56 pmWent to the doctor's to get the staples out. He said it looks fine, and cleared me to do steps and such. This means that I can walk around outside! I like that. I still have to be careful while sitting, and am not supposed to sit for more than 30-45 minutes at one time. So still a lot of reclining on the futon. He agreed with my sister, that a one mile walk by the end of the month is a decent target. Considering I could do about a mile before the surgery, I think it's a *really* good target. (Sis is a physical therapist, and has done fusion rehab, so she's not just pulling numbers out of the air.)
The cats like the new "cat" in the house. Hey, I spend most of my time reclining on the futon or laying down in bed. I get up to eat and go to the bathroom and do a walk around, just like a cat. Scrabble has decided that she's going to keep me company whenever I'm on the futon. Sometimes, she gets a little too pushy, and I have to claim my pile of pillows back.
