The die is cast. I will be having spinal fusion surgery. Definite L5-S1; L4-L5 possible, depending on how it looks once he gets in there.
Pre-op scheduled for July 29. Surgery August 3. Small hospitals are wonderful. (I think.)
I'm not really sure I want to do this, but I'm very sure that I want my life back. Yes, I know I won't get it all back, but at least I'll be able to do the stuff I need to do, and maybe some of the things I want to do.
He also said that I should be able to go to Berzerker. (assuming the rest of the family wants to go.)
I may be wearing that stupid air-cast/boot, though. Apparently, my ankle has stopped working exactly as it should, and the calf muscle is still trying to get it to work properly. So there are microtears between the calf muscle and the tendon that goes down to the ankle (evidenced by deep bruises that are not only not fading, but getting worse). Wearing the boot is probably a good idea, given the terrain at the Sands.
Sigh. I am not amused, but I will make it.
