- Soaked and blocked a scarf.
- Sewed a rod pocket onto the back of a wall hanging J's mom gave us a few years ago (still need to get a rod to hang it from, but the sewing is done).
- Hung the southwestern owl from my parent's house.
- Re-placed a shoulder strap on SR's dress -- somehow I got it on the wrong side of the pin-markings; she assumed that I'd done it correctly and didn't try it on; even in the wrong place it fit fine; so I didn't notice it was way off placement until she got home last night
- Fixed the zippers on two skirts. Same problem, same fix, but time consuming as one skirt was lined and I had to unstitch the lining, fix the zipper, and restitch
- Figured out how to fix the lining on a coat for a friend
- Figured out how to fix the front closure on my red coat, without completely remaking it
- Planned the next+2 sweater (next is a major fix of a previously finished one, next+1 is ready to go when I'm done with the fix)
I also discovered that the new TV in the basement will turn on closed captioning if you leave it muted for more than 2 minutes. And promptly turns off the captions when you un-mute. Turning the volume down did not have the same effect.
sigh. I got distracted while making cookies, and just made a batch without baking powder, baking soda, or salt. I guess the kids will get something else in their lunches tomorrow.

Date: 2009-02-02 05:58 am (UTC)This is a handy feature that some of my sets have. Poke around in the menus and you may be able to get the captioning to come on as soon as you mute, which makes more sense.
It's good for phone calls that interrupt one's viewing.

Date: 2009-02-02 11:43 am (UTC)I must say that I didn't try doing it during the games, just during the ads, and I wasn't actually timing it. I didn't see captioning on any of the ads, but as soon as the game came back on the captions showed up. I didn't try it during the game. (yes, I know. no sense of scientific inquiry.)
