"well, that wasn't horrible" Rehearsal did not go as poorly as I thought it might. Not that it went all that well, though. I was mostly able to keep up with the music, although I did need to breathe more often than usual. I had almost no breath support for long or low notes, and I'm just not used to that. I found myself taking a couple of deep breaths every time I hit a long rest in the music. My lungs were still grumpy and tight this morning. They're still a bit annoyed, but some of that may be due to the lint/dust I've kicked up from sorting in the storage room.

J finally assembled the wine rack [livejournal.com profile] kevinnickerson gave us a couple of years ago, so I was able to get the case of wine out of the way, and clear the smaller rack off the shelf, thus freeing up some space to rearrange some other shelves. (and I re-found the half case of Dad's wine that I'm supposed to give to Kevin. eventually.)

After two days of observation, I can report that the bathing capacity of the birdbath is 6 sparrows, with four perched on the rim. Or 3 cardinals, although that may be because the ladies won't share. The crows keep poking at the pond, trying to figure out where the water went.

The feeding capacity of the platform feeder is 9 sparrows/finches/chickadees/juncos. The doves wait until there's no one else there, although they will share with each other. The jays haven't found the platform feeder yet. It seems as though the summer storms took out all the less-than-healthy tree branches -- there's been a downy woodpecker on the suet feeder every day this week. Usually we don't see them until much later in the winter. Then again, it got cold much faster than it usually does.
