Tired and stiff. I reminded J that I wanted to get my computer out of the living room before we had company and needed extra seating in the LR. He was in "hurry up and wait" at work -- waiting on responses to a bunch of queries, including "why can't I access this thing that I need to access in order to, you know, work on it?" -- so we spent a few hours moving a bedroom suite down the stairs and loading into the trailer so he could haul it off to Habitat ReStore or ShareHouse. Then I got to assemble bedframes and attach them to headboards. Which was far more difficult than it should have been. One headboard is over 50 years old, and one bedframe didn't fit it. Unfortunately (as you'd expect), the bedframe that fit the old headboard was already deployed in the other upstairs bedroom. So I pulled the box spring and mattress off *both* beds and swapped bedframes, then attached headboards and replaced beds and bedding on them.
The plan we came up with late last year was that we'd donate SR's bedroom suite somewhere and I'd move my computer and at least some of the shelves in the LR up there, turning it into my "office" (which I'd lost back in July of 2020 when J moved his office out of the cold dark basement) that could sleep guests if needed. I still need to move a dresser up from the basement, just so people have a flat surface upon which they can put things. (One of the dressers in the basement is an antique dresser from the house on Mark Twain. My mother moved out of that house in 1962. It's a plywood dresser, painted 1950s olive green. But it's the right size, and I don't have to spend hours looking for one.) I need to drift by IKEA or somewhere like that to see if I can find an inexpensive chair/loveseat for the LR, and maybe an outdoor lounge set. Next week, after the concert which will eat my weekend.
In FCB news, Monday's rehearsal was kinda hard. I was tired on Tuesday. You'd think we had a concert coming up or something. And immediately after the concert, we shift gears and start working on summer music. There was an impromptu meeting of an adhoc 'member music committee' after rehearsal Monday, when Prez was reading us the "Music Selection Committee" convo about summer music. The MMC's comments were of the "where's the Fun?" "where's the stuff that little kids will dance to?", variety. I sent off a few links for stuff that I thought might work for summer, and Prez was "oooh thanks. we may not do these, but it's given me some ideas to run past Maestro", so that's a good thing, right?
And of course it was 84F today. It was 60 all last week, and only 75 on Monday.
