Bands Vs Weather 2021 7-1-1 (concert)

Final Livingston band concert was a tie. We started early due to incoming storms, and got about half way through the concert list before the director looked at the clouds to the north and west, blinked, and called up Stars & Stripes Forever as a finale. Told the audience that we would not be offended if they left during the piece. :) There were no piccolo players in the band tonight, so the piccolo frilly bit was played by a piccolo trumpet. He did it very well, although it was a little odd to have the picc part coming from behind. :)

I was able to get all my stuff packed into the car before it started raining hard. The heavy rain stayed mostly behind me, as I headed south as it was heading more east than south. I did get wet loading out when I got home - it wasn't actually raining when I got home, but J kept talking to me when I tried to go get another load of stuff. I grabbed a rain coat to get the last bits out of the trunk, and left the chairs on the back seat - I'll get them tomorrow morning when I go feed the birds.

Reminds me of an Illinois summer, the fourth of July, when it started to rain hard during the fireworks. So they just shot them all off at once. It was wonderful.
