Last night (Monday) was the last FCB concert for the season. It was short, but went well. Short because Maestro was standing in the sun and it was 85F at concert start. The only reason it was bearable is that there was a decent breeze (but not enough to blow music off stands) and it wasn't very humid. It was the shortest FCB season ever, only three months, but we figured we were doing well to have that. We picked up a couple of new tenor sax players over the course of the summer (ideally one or both will be back in the fall), and I hear that we may have a new alto sax player come fall - he talked to the maestro and to GM after the concert.
Three Livingston concerts left (actually four, but I will be missing one because I'm going to band camp), including one tonight in Hartland. I expect it will be hot, even though we're under a pavilion (oooh, need to remember my stand light!). Then two in Howell and a makeup gig in Fowlerville.
