Christmas dinner went reasonably well. Some of the potatoes were a bit underdone, but others were fine. *shrug* The apples were better with oil. The multicolored carrots gave off more juice than the orange ones I used at Thanksgiving; and needed more nutmeg, and maybe a dash of clove. Failed cornbread again, this time by forgetting the baking powder entirely. pfui. I was the only one who ate the raisin sauce for the ham. There's lots of sauce left -- I guess I'll use it for dressing on my lunch salads for the next week or so.
We did get a white Christmas after all - started snowing after dark on Christmas Eve, and continued all day on Christmas. Not a lot of snow, but enough that the dead grass was covered. (Yes, I know it was almost 60F in Bethlehem on Christmas Day. Blame the Victorian "influencers" from both England and New England for the idea that there's supposed to be snow on Christmas. Irving Berlin didn't help.)
J's been cleaning his basement workspace -- he's been flinging things into piles for over a year, and now that his work computer is moved out of there so there's space and he has some time, he's digging into those piles.
The problem with my back is not the distance but the weather. Which is good, really. Guess I'll be putting my gym membership to some use. (they're open, but very limited capacity, and no classes; although I think they still have personal training.) Shoulder still cranky. Better than it was the last time I mentioned it, but I still think I may bug the ortho next month.
My hair has gotten long enough (well past shoulder length) that the butterfly clips I used to use to keep it out of my face don't work anymore -- they don't grip well enough to stay put with the weight. sigh. OTOH, I got an excellent cut last January, so it doesn't look shaggy at all.
