johnridley is not allowed to go away for the weekend ever again. :) Things break when he leaves.

I had to turn off the water to the kitchen sink because the faucet is leaking. And he's not even gotten to Duckon yet. sigh. (OK, it's been seeping for about a week, but it's really leaking now. And I don't do plumbing.)

One of the outside hoses sprang a leak. And the dog is sulking.

I know the feeling. C's House Battery Backup project which worked for a few years decided that the year I was home alone because I had to leave later for WorldCon is the year that (1) we would get a power outage, and (2) the batteries would prove they don't work anymore and even prevent the house from getting power back once the city came back. **sigh** Several telephone calls later I'd been talked through what I needed to do to get back to city power.
