When I went out to feed the birds at 8:30, it was 48F and raining. When J went out 35 minutes later, it was 36F. And still raining. It's been raining all night - over two inches of rain since midnight - and doesn't look like it's going to stop anytime soon. And the ground is frozen, so lots of standing water.

The temperature is going to continue to drop, so at some point the rain will transition to freezing rain and then to snow. Probably. Predicting weather at the edges is a crap shoot -- half a degree warmer at some atmospheric level and it stays rain, half a degree colder and it changes to freezing rain earlier and actually accumulates ice.

I guess it could be worse - it could be colder, and we'd be getting a foot of snow.
