Music!

There was FCB rehearsal on Monday. Outside, as FPS is still figuring out if non-student groups can use the buildings. A little more freeform than we'd perhaps expected, as the parking lot was half-full when *I* got there, and people were still coming in. It turns out that the first Monday of the school year is Curriculum night, where parents come in and get a tour of the school/meet the teachers, etc. We were able to carve out a space for rehearsal, although not near any parking lot lights, so rehearsal ended when the sun went down. Next week, we should be able to set up under a light and get closer to a full rehearsal in. There were many infelicities in the music, and I'm not sure who's to blame for them - music we had in July wasn't in the folders; not enough folders even though the librarian was sent numbers, etc. Not My Problem, really it's not.

It is still unclear when (if) we'll get access to the building for rehearsal/performance. The schedule says that we'll be at the Performing Arts center for a concert next March, and in Hill Auditorium in A2 in May. We shall see. We have been told that we will be using bell covers and wearing masks and observing spacing when we do move inside.

Livingston is much less concerned. I do not know if this is good or bad. I'm masking when not in my chair and I have a bell cover on my sax. I have discovered a couple of things I really need to work on with that horn - the left hand table keys are way different than they are on the bari, so I need to hit the lowBb key at an entirely different angle so that I don't hit something I don't want to. In the Mood was the last piece up in last night's rehearsal, and we didn't get to it. KN and I didn't mind, as neither one of us is real confident with the solos yet. It is so weird *not* playing the tuba part -- I get trombone and french horn parts.
