Look! more snow.
Feb. 12th, 2021 10:12 amYup, still winter. Probably 10 inches or so on the ground, coming in 2-3inch deposits. I guess it does make shoveling the driveway easier, when I only have to move a couple of inches of fluffy snow rather than a full 8 inch snowfall. But I do have to do it more often. Last night, we got a dusting, and I went to get the garage broom so I could just sweep the deck, and I can't find it. We had two, and the handle on one broke, and I *think* the unbroken one is somewhere in J's shop, and I can't find anything in there. And even if I could find it, I'm not sure I could *get* to it. Next time I go shopping, I'll buy a broom handle at Menards.
Took my car in for an oil change on Tuesday (it's only been a year and not quite 6000 miles since the last one). Service manager says there's a lot of that going around. They replaced the air filter and cleared debris out of the air intake system as well, as one of our mouse "friends" was nibbling on the filter. Not a surprise, when the car sometimes sat for a couple of weeks. Now I'm taking it out three-four times a week to go to the gym and grocery shopping.
Ordered the new chair on Monday. 12-16 weeks for delivery, which is double the usual 6-8 weeks. Which is about what I expected. She will call when she gets an actual delivery estimate from the manufacturer.
It was very quiet this morning when I went out to feed the birds, and sound was travelling really well, so much so that I could hear the train going through town. Not just the whistle, but the rumble of the wheels on the track. We're about 4 miles from the train track as sound goes, and sometimes we can hear the whistle, but usually we can't hear the train itself - just a little bit of wind will make enough noise that the train sound gets lost.
