Time flies either way
Nov. 20th, 2019 01:50 pmAck! How did it get to be the week before Thanksgiving?! I was at the grocery store today, and they were pushing all the Thanksgiving ingredients (french fried onions, stuffing mix, evaporated and condensed milk, cans of pumpkin, etc). Then I went to the cider mill, and K said that they would be closed on Thanksgiving, open on Friday, then done until next August. Does explain the plethora of Early Black Friday ads I've been getting. It's not as early as I think it is, apparently.
Rehearsals are getting a bit more intense, as LCCB's holiday concert is Dec 8, with Farmington's on the 15th, so we're rapidly running out of rehearsal time. There's some confusion at North, as their "auditorium usage" schedule has the North instrumental groups on their stage on Monday Dec 11. Erm. Dec 11 is a Wednesday, so one of those bits of information is wrong.
A few weeks ago I twanged something in my right shoulder (at the gym!), and it's not getting much better. I should probably go see someone about it -- I'm sure that I just aggravated some existing damage, but I think it needs some professional assistance. After Thanksgiving, at this point.
The snow we got last week is mostly melted -- there's still the piles of shoveled snow left, but the yard is mostly clear. The deck, which gets cold air under, still has snow cover, though.
Last weekend we wandered off to Chicago for WindyCon. It was a con. I did not go to any programming, mostly by choice. There were a couple of events that "if I think of it in time, I'll go", and then the time came and I was doing something else. Neither one of us had a key to the GT room, but I still checked on before I went to bed each night. It was closed Friday night when I went by, but MA and I cleaned it and closed on Saturday. GT is getting old - Friday night I went to bed at 2am, and Saturday at 2:30am.
