jennlk: (snow bird)
We got over 12" of snow in the snowstorm on Monday. There was no LCCB rehearsal on Tuesday night, although we could have -- Howell did have most of their Tuesday evening activities.

Tuesday it was sunny but not very warm. The cleared driveway dried right up, other than a few patches along the sides where the snow had been packed into ice and not scraped up. Tuesday night was cold. The pond is now frozen, but I don't know how thick the ice is. The deer are now drinking out of the birdbath. Between the deer, the squirrels, and the cranes the backyard is no longer a trackless expanse. I think there are fox or coyote prints in the snow as well as bunny tracks. Tuesday AM, when the snow was still fluffy, there were feather tracks, where the tips of wings brushed the snow as birds were taking off.

We got another not-quite-two-inches of snow last night. They tell us that we should be back into the 'normal' range for November temperatures soon, so we'll have a week or so of daytime above freezing (with or without sun) and nights below freezing. This is why I clear the driveway, so it doesn't turn into a rutted sheet of ice.
