Another tie.
Jul. 16th, 2019 09:54 amFCB vs weather is now 2-0-2, although I'm not sure if the FoxRun gig should be included, as it's an indoor concert. The second tie is yesterday's gig. At which it rained, hard, for much of the concert. But there was a tent for the FCB, and a tent next to the patio for the audience. The tent wasn't quite big enough for the band, and the tuba section (all three of us) was tucked on the very edge, with rain hitting our backs. But the music stayed dry, and Esme was mostly dry (the tubas got a bit damp, too, but they're pretty much waterproof). I was pretty much soaked by the time we were done. Shoes sopping wet, trousers and uniform polo were still wet this AM. I put Esme on her stand and opened out the case and set a fan blowing on them all night.
It is currently raining here (not hard, but enough to get everything wet). There is a decent chance that the LCCB concert this evening will be cancelled, although the summer weather can vary widely over the 30 miles between here and there. (It did not rain at home at all yesterday, and we got over half an inch in Farmington).
J is off to the annual picnic. He shifted his trip to accommodate bringing K down for med appointments next week. I thought about going, and maybe we could do some touristy stuff on the way home, but.... Everything is still wet from last night, and I have a new spinal impingement cropping up. I think it's due to all the shovelling and heavy weeding I've been doing, but it does make me a bit leery of sitting for an extended time.
