It can rain any time now.

Really. I went out to do some weeding this afternoon. That didn't work so well. The ground was too hard to pull the weeds out of--they'd just break off at ground level or just below. And there's no way I can move strawberry crowns right now. We need a good soaking rain.

It's supposed to rain today, but so far all we've gotten is enough to get the driveway visibly damp, but nothing more. It feels like it's going to storm, so I haven't started the laundry or the ironing yet. I hate when the power goes out in the middle of a washer load, and I don't want to get caught in the basement if it goes out -- it's dark down there, and there's no real place to put an emergency light in the sewing room. I probably should remedy that situation.
