Argh. And of course, it wasn't a stub shaft, it was the transmission. We were all kind of hoping it was a stub shaft, but nooooo. From what I hear, it went kablooey (technical term, I know, but sometimes they're the best ;-) ). So a new transmission gets put in the van. We should have it back on Wednesday.

SR and I managed to get to the places we needed to go last night. I didn't get to the concert, but I've seen the show already, and I really needed to go to rehearsal. (Knowing when to show up for a concert is a useful thing, yanno?) The boys went to the concert with a friend, and she gave them all a ride home after the concert. It will be interesting to see what the band looks and sounds like next year -- there's a -large- senior class. J taped the concert, and they sounded pretty good, allowing for the crap acoustics. The concert was in the gym, as there are so many kids in the bands that there would be no space in the auditorium for the audience. Fall Echoes is what Chelsea calls their Band-O-Rama, where every band 6-7-8-HS plays, and the directors tell us that if every band member brought just -one- guest, the auditorium would be SRO+. That, and the HS band won't fit on the stage in one piece -- they fit for the concert season because the marching band gets split into Wind Symphony and Concert Band.

I am stiff and creaky today, between the weather and the uncomfortable car and the hanging a saxophone off my neck for two hours. Should be OK by tomorrow, as long as I keep my back warm and take it easy.
