More waiting....
Sep. 13th, 2005 04:18 pmI had my six-week followup with the surgeon today. Everything looks just fine - screws and rods are where they should be, the cages are starting to disappear under bone, nothing's shifted around. I feel fine, although stiff and limited in range of motion and endurance. He says I'm doing very well-to-excellent.
But no rehab yet. He doesn't release to rehab until 4.5 months at a minimum, and some of his slower healing patients don't get to rehab for a year. He's found that the earlier he releases people to rehab the more often they come back. He wants to be really sure that the bone grafts have taken before I start pulling on them. I can see his point, but....
More errands today, and yesterday I went grocery shopping all by myself, after going to the Open House at SR's school.
