J seems to be mostly over his cold. This is good, because now I can go back to sleeping in my own bed, instead of on the futon. I sleep much better on the bed, even though I have to share J with the dog. (but if J is sick, I sleep better on the futon.)

I did very little today, other than take a nap. It seems to have helped my back quite a bit. (I've been trying to take a day off since Tuesday, but kept getting sabotaged by stuff that had to be done.)

Kids are off school next week. We're not going anywhere, though. It's tax season. We don't go very far from home until April 16. Even if J's end stays up, there's almost always problems at the other end.

[livejournal.com profile] jebra will be glad to hear that I'm going to try to get my fall schedule arranged so that I can drive to Farmington on Monday nights. SR's band director wants to get her into an ensemble next year, either a sax quartet or a mixed woodwind group.

Judy has been moved into a group home. She seems to be settling in well, although Mom says that she may need to move again in a couple of months if she continues to progress. The condo Judy'd been living in is going to be sold -- she's not going to be able to go back to living on her own. (A (my sister) bought the condo as an investment, and rather than deal with the hassles of renting it out, she let Judy live there for utilities). When Mom went down in March, she and C cleaned the perishables out, and cleared out a lot of incidentals; but there's still furniture and linens and china and tchotchkes that need to be dealt with. Lots of tchotchkes. (Mom called this morning to ask if there was anything specific I wanted. Family story--my grammas had nearly identical china patterns. Gramma B's was pink, Gramma K's was yellow, but the pattern was the same. I chose the pink, A chose the yellow; so I will be getting 12 settings+serving pieces (minus a few broken pieces, as you might expect after 60+ years).) A is going down later this week to start the listing process, and she and C and some family friends will be going through the condo and deciding what will be put into storage for when Judy gets moved to somewhere where she can have more of her stuff, what's going to be distributed among friends and family, and what's going to be sold. Mom had thought that we could drive down together and help (and bring stuff north), but I'm going to have the kids home next week, so that's not going to work.

Know anyone looking for a ~12yo 2 bedroom condo in Cocoa? (Southwest side, over by the WinnDixie and the WalMart.) I know someone who's selling one....what I don't know is if there's a waiting list at the complex or not, nor what she'll be asking. :) Mostly retirees, but kids are allowed to visit -- there's almost always somebody's grandkids visiting.

Birdies, birdies! Saw a robin in the yard this morning. Still have a few juncos hanging around. The lady cardinal was perched on the deck rail just outside the kitchen window when I was washing apples this morning. She's very pretty. The gentleman was over on the birdfeeder. The blue jays seem to have wandered off for now -- they'll be back when it's laying time. The bluebirds have taken to perching on the garage gutters. There was a grackle throwing peanuts off the tray feeder today and then flying down and eating them on the ground. (well, the ones that the dove wasn't picking up.)

This may be a first -- me recruiting a non-percussionist and not via the web site.
