Silly(?) birdie
Mar. 13th, 2006 01:57 pmThe hinged lid to the hopper on the bird feeder blew open about half an hour ago. I just looked out and saw a grackle inside the hopper. (There were already a couple of doves and another grackle on the shelf, and there wasn't room for another.) Unfortunately, as I went to get the camera we got a big gust of wind and it jangled the windchime and scared all the birds off. It spooked the cats, too; and now they're glaring at me. (Apparently, it's my fault that the wind blew....)
Haven't seen many of the smaller birds today -- not surprising. They tend to hunker down when the wind picks up. The cats have forgiven me now, and are watching the wind blow leaves across the back yard. (and snurfing madly. I closed the screen door and opened the glass door to get some fresh air into the house before it snows(!) tonight.)
note that it's a nice windchime, and only jangles in high winds.
