Fireflies!

lots of them! The ones over the field are blinking quickly, and SR says it looks like glitter. It's very pretty. SR and I are fairly certain we saw a pair of Baltimore Orioles in the backyard a couple of days ago. Guess it's time to get an orange feeder for them.
In other news, 500 sq feet of hardwood floor is a lot. There's a stack in the living room and a smaller one in the den.
SR and I have taped the trim and ceiling in the living room. Almost -- the 6 feet of wall behind the TV isn't done yet, but that will not take long. The stairwell wall is painted peach. It's quite a change from the deepish green that was there. And it will take another coat of paint tomorrow before it's really done. I think the clay for the main room will only take one coat, but that's why I want to paint it tomorrow -- the hardware store in town is open limited hours on Sunday. (I s'pose I could have gone to Lowe's for the paint, but it's not much cheaper there, and I *like* having a hardware store 'in town'. The one downtown closed just before Christmas, after (apparently) not making any money for a couple of years. Nobody I talked to ever went there, which probably has something to do with why they closed.)
I stained the new door trim today. It doesn't actually match the old stuff, between aging and a different base wood (pine vs poplar), but it's the same stain and it 'goes' at the moment and will match better as time goes on.
The fish are all in temporary housing, while J deep cleans the tanks -- he figures he's got to mostly drain the tanks to move them anyway, might as well. The koi (10" and 12" bodies!) are in the bathtub in the master bathroom. Monster is pretty mellow about the whole thing, but George is freaking out on a regular basis. Harry (aka The Fish Who Lived -- a 14 y o silver dollar), who lives in a different tank, is currently in a storage tote in the kitchen. Both 'tanks' have bubblers, and the fish will be fine.
The cats are disdainful, spookified, or outright annoyed at the rearrangement of the house. It didn't help that we had a 4 month old Lab puppy staying here for a day. Ji does not approve of the water in the bathtub, and the fish in there are Very Not Right. Anna is creeping up on every new or moved thing, waiting for it to jump at her. So far I have refrained from pitching a toy at her.....
