A"lost" day....

jennlkYesterday was pretty much a lost day for me. Despite lingering stiff & creaky (with bonus pain and numbness), I got to spend six and a half hours on my feet, setting up, hosting, & cleaning up after a light funeral meal (the family had requested desserts and beverages only). It's not hard to do (I make sure that somebody else does the planning, which is the part I dislike), and the family was very appreciative, but it's still a lot of work and pretty much kills the day for anything else.
Not that it really mattered (other than a blister from wearing no hose with shoes that I really should wear hose with), because the garden was (and is!) far too wet to work in. I can weed from the path, but that makes the inner parts (where I can't reach) look even worse.
WE got more rain last night, but before it started I saw fireflies! More than we've seen this year, so I think that we're getting in to firefly season.... Which I like, except that it usually comes with heat+humidity, which I don't like so much.
