Christmas notes:
Dec. 27th, 2005 06:55 pmShort version: we survived. :)
long version:
J took the kids over to his mom's on the Tuesday before Christmas. They had Christmas dinner and visits with rarely seen family members.
Christmas Eve was a busy day -- much wrapping of gifts during the day. I hadn't realised how much I'd gotten for the kids, and actually left a couple of things ungifted (besides the ones that I couldn't find. ooops.) I usually gift shop all year, and this year I was mostly done by July. Looming surgery will do that. Then there was church -- tiny building, more people at Xmas Eve service than any other, therefore two services. As a "special event" choir member, I was expected to be there for both. Then home, and fill the stockings. (The rule at Christmas is that the kids can get up whenever they want and rummage the stockings, but they are not supposed to come and wake us up, and screeching in glee is frowned upon. No gifts until after breakfast.)
Then it was the big day. Breakfast, then gifts. I got birdy stuff -- a heated birdbath with a thermostatic heater and a peanut feeder for the woodpeckers. The dog *loved* the peanut feeder (it smelled of feed store). The kids got Legos and K'nex. And Spud Troopers. Then off to church (surprisingly well attended) and then to my folks' for Christmas dinner and little giftings.
I did much better this trip than I did at Thanksgiving (much less tired on the day, and nearly back to 'normal' yesterday), so even though I'm not making noticeable progress day-to-day, I'm apparently still progressing. Yay!

Addendum
Date: 2005-12-27 07:36 pm (UTC)SR got a Growf shirt, but didn't know quite what to think of it since she hasn't read What's New yet. We'll have to remedy that. Of course, she hasn't played any RPGs so she may not get it.
