We've had a finch feeder on the deck since April. It's been getting a lot of business all summer, and for the last week or so there's been a line of finches waiting for a perch. So today I put up a second feeder. I put the new one on the same hook as the original one, and moved the old one to an empty hook about 20 feet away. The finches on the old one didn't fly off until I was less than 10 feet away, obviously heading toward them, and then they glared at me. So I put the new feeder up and moved the old one. Within 5 minutes, all of the perches on both feeders had finches on them, stuffing their little beaks full of seed.
