So, still with the recovery....
Sep. 24th, 2005 08:38 pmI think I backslid a little bit last week. sigh. Last Saturday was a busy day -- SR had to be delivered to and picked up from a band trip, and since J was busy at the parsonage, I had to do it; someone needed to go to the grocery store, and J was on the roof, so I had to drive there (and that's the farthest I'd driven) and do the shopping with DB (and shopping with an 8 yo is a lot more work than doing it alone); then we stopped off at the parsonage to kibitz the workers and talk to people who weren't on the roof. So I spent a lot more time on my feet than I had been, and my leg muscles got tired. That meant that my back muscles had to do more work, and they're just not ready for that yet. And then SR and I did the laundry, since everyone was getting low on clean clothes. (I mostly directed that effort, but I had to sort it first, and I started a load before she got back from her field trip.)
I did the weekly grocery shopping by myself for the first time (more driving, and lifting). Then SR and I had dentist appointments, which meant more driving because she had to be picked up at school and returned there afterwards. None of that would have been a problem if I hadn't already been sore.
So I've spent much of the last couple of days reclining in my nest with an icepack on my back. I think I've only overexerted the muscles in my back, since there's no real *pain*, just a lot of extra soreness and stiffness.
