Snerk. I heard the cranes whirring this morning, and looked out to see that they were poking around in the garden (they really like gleaning the corn), and Ji was over by the pond, slinking about and appearing to be trying to decide whether he wanted to get closer to them. Then the big crane saw him, and whirred at him. Ji started slinking toward the house. Then I tapped on the door, and he came trotting toward the door. And pranced in as though coming back inside was his idea, and had nothing to do with the trio of cranes.

My money would be on the cranes regardless. Those things are BIG.

One of my cats (Cream Puff - a big, neutered and declawed (which I wouldn't do again) male who tried very hard not to live up to his name) used to look down out of the window of my second-floor apartment at the geese across the street with this look in his eye that said "I could get me one of those."

I don't know what would have happened if he ever got out and near one - probably not much since he usually ended up hiding as soon as he got out.

That's pretty funny. Choice doesn't seem to care about the birds at the feeders, but if a moth hovers near the picture windows she goes wild. Sometimes I think her eyesight isn't so hot, but it doesn't matter. She's not getting out anyway!
