We're baaack!
Jul. 25th, 2005 10:08 pmMade it. Had fun, too.
Discovered that wearing the (%&*@) boot was probably a really, really, good idea. I hadn't realised how much of my fatigue was due to compensating for the weakness in the foot and ankle. I probably walked farther in two and a half days on The Sands than I have in the last couple of weeks, and was less tired at the end. The fact the surface at the Sands is so uneven and slidy anyway made the uneven-ness of gait due to the boot much less of an annoyance than it is on flatter/stabler surfaces.
I'll have to test this idea this week, and wear the boot when I go grocery shopping, and see what the fatigue level is like.
