Jul. 12th, 2005 05:34 pmSo. Back from the doc (technically, he's a physiatrist). He says there are two choices: do nothing, or have surgery. Do nothing is unacceptable at this point. For a lot of reasons, but basically because I want my life back, dammit. He doesn't really know what the surgeon's schedule looks like, but expects that I should be able to get in sometime next month. He will handle the post-op rehab, so I won't need to break in another doc for that. I'm already scheduled to see the surgeon next Monday, and I will know more (far more) after that.
He confirmed that he could see no reason why I couldn't go on our scheduled camping trip. He did remind me that I needed to stop and get out and stretch every couple of hours -- shouldn't be a problem, seeing as we're taking the kids and the dog.
The dog is much happier now. J is home. Apparently, she was so glad to see him that she could barely stand up (she was wagging her tail and wiggling so hard). She's been rather apologetic since I got back, since I didn't make J go away permanently.
