I was surprised, because it's not usually as bad as it was yesterday. For the last 18 months or so, it's reliably taken an extra 15-20 minutes to get home due to construction, but yesterday's extra 45 minutes was a new one on me.
The Hawk is the Farmington Hills Community Center. It's the old high school that the FCB used to rehearse and perform at, but the school district closed the school about 5 years ago due to declining enrollment. The city bought it, and renovated it into a (pretty decent, really) community center.
When the transition happened, the FCB was told that "there would always be space for us" at the new facility, and technically, that is true. It's just that they want us to change in ways that would, basically, kill the Concert Band portion of the Farmington Community Band program.
