Different K. Daughter (usually referred to as EU or sometimes SR) is still in OZ, and has applied for their 'immigrant alien' status (or whatever they call it -- green card equivalent -- she told me but I don't remember).
This K is a fannish friend who lived in Chicago for a while and now lives in the UP. She has medical issues, and comes down to the UMich Med system a few times a year. She doesn't drive due to those issues, and has conscripted J to be her driver/accompanying adult when she is here....
