10+ inches of snow as of 5pm, and it's still falling. It took J 90 minutes to get home from work (usually a 40 minute drive). He said there were places where traffic was moving at less than walking speed (the roads were still warm when the snow started falling, and it's a little bit slushy/slippery where it's not been plowed in the last 30 minutes).

I shoveled the top of the driveway three times (9am, noon, 4pm), and now that J is home he and DB are shoveling the straight part. I am passing on that, for two reasons - we only have two snowshovels, and my shoulders are already sore enough. DB rescheduled his meeting with the producer of Ballet Chelsea's Nutcracker to later in the week. FCB rehearsal was cancelled before 2 pm (Farmington public school cancelled all evening activities, of which we are one).

The pond has a lovely thick layer of slush on it, as it wasn't frozen when the snow started sometime after midnight.

The road commission should get the roads cleared enough (if the snow stops before midnight or so) for there to be school tomorrow. This only affects me in terms of LCCB rehearsal, which is cancelled if Howell schools are closed.
