Saturday was nice and warm and much of the snow on the ground melted. Leaving icy patches where the snow had been packed down by walking on, so it's a bit treacherous going out to the birdfeeders.

Sunday we had lots of wind. Fortunately, nothing blew away -- the loose outspout did find its way across the front yard, but did not leave the yard. The willow tree only lost a few more little branches (most of them had come off earlier in the winter), and everything else seems to have made it through just fine.

Today there's a bit more snow. They say we'll get more snow tomorrow, and some on Saturday. Friends who get their weather from the TV say it's going to be "bad". The weather forecasts I see are a couple of inches today/tomorrow and snow showers on Saturday, which doesn't seem that bad to me.

The Saturday snow is a bit concerning because Sunday is the final FCB concert at Harrison High School. The building will still be there after this school year, but it's unclear when our next performance in the space will be. The school system is selling the building to the Farmington Arts Council (or whatever its official name is), but they will be renovating much of the building, and depending on the timing and how much the want to do, they may just close the building for a few months and/or move the FCB to a different space for a few months. Not even the FCB board knows exactly what's going to happen. It's going to be a hard concert - the music is difficult, we missed a rehearsal due to weather, I missed a rehearsal due to thumb issues. There is a woodwind choir with two barisax parts, and yesterday was the first time that MW and I had been at a rehearsal together (other than the one where I was sightreading). The BSax parts intertwine - sometimes he leads and I answer, sometimes I lead and he answers, sometimes they're the same, and sometimes we're both playing but very different parts. And there's a piece that I've now perfomred twice and *still* can't count. which annoys the hell out of me. Unlike a lot of pieces where I can hear where the entrances are after rehearsing for a while, this one is more abstract and the entrances are more random.
