And the summer continues.

The FCB won the third match of the season, playing outside last night on a hot evening. Somebody said it was 90F at setup, but it really didn't feel that hot, once we got done moving around (shade, breeze, and low humidity all helped). The concert went pretty well, although it was short -- two of the pieces we'd done indoors the day before had to be cut as we were down a percussionist and there just weren't enough bodies to cover all the parts.
The lilies in the E garden bloomed and perfumed up that side of the yard for a couple of weeks. I need to divide and spread them this fall. There is a pale ice blue larkspur plant out there - it's really pretty against the nearly ultraviolet ones out there. The mallows have all reverted to pale pink, which is pretty, but not what I planted. There is a very odd plant that I vaguely remember planting seeds for 15 years ago that has black flowers on it. I try to keep the ground cover away from it so that it doesn't get swallowed up, but I think it's finally found its feet, so to speak, and is beginning to send up more stems and flowers.
Not much else going on here. Finishing up a layout for a newsletter, working on the music for a UMW function in July, waiting for J to do something in the basement so I can shift things back and work in the sewing room, not weeding when the heat index is over 93F, etc. It's hard to weed right now, though, because we haven't gotten any rain and the ground is hard and dry.
