(no subject)

it *did* get cold fast enough that we didn't get any significant ice falling on Thursday. The precipitation held off until it was well below freezing, so we pretty much got snow. About 8", but it was windy, so it promptly drifted and packed into about 6". We shoveled the driveway Friday morning, and by late afternoon, the driveway was clear and dry. Then we got another half-inch or so of drifting snow (with a wind advisory, even) on Friday night, so much of the driveway is drifted over. It's not drifted very deep, though, so we don't have to dig it out.

There are lots of branches down, so sometime next week (if it doesn't melt too fast and get sloppy), I need to go pick them up.
