Yesterday, after yet another night of crappy sleep because of pain in my shoulder, I called the UMich SportsMed clinic in A2, and got an appointment there for early next week. Much better than four weeks from yesterday closer to home (which I cancelled, of course). I also got the actual test results, rather than just what the referral clerk read to me, and yeah. That shoulder is screwed up. Two partially torn tendons - one that's been torn for a while, as it's showing scar tissue along the tear; mild bursitis; and a bone spur on the top of the shoulder joint.

I've still been getting some weeding done, although it's been early or late, when the areas I need to work in are in the shade. Yeah, it's not as humid as it often is, but it's still 90F; and between a cranky shoulder and sweat dripping off the end of my nose, it's hard to weed. So far I've been working on areas around the pond where there aren't any extra rocks, and this morning I weeded around the white lilac in the front yard.

The orange lilies have bloomed and faded, as have the CandyPop lilies (creamy with hot pink petal tips); the larkspur are starting to bloom, along with the pink mallows, the yarrow, and the red-hot poker in the E garden.

It's been prime firefly weather -- 20 minutes after sunset, just as it's getting dark, they start coming up out of the grass and the corn behind the house. Every once in a while, one comes in with the laundry, even though I bring it in well before dark. I don't know exactly why they're out looking for places to hide while the laundry is on the line....
