Erranding in the covid-19 early times.
Mar. 17th, 2020 06:51 pmPT today, and some quick errands after (J asked for non-dairy milk & Frosted Flakes. now? sigh.) More puzzle-solving by PTs. Lots of trigger-point work, much of which is really uncomfortable. Her current thinking is bursitis, but she'll know more on Thursday*. There's just so much inflammation in there that it's hard to figure out what the main cause is -- right now they're at the 'poke things to see what happens' stage. They've figured out a few things it isn't, which is a good start. (* assuming that non-essential medical services are still open.)
Still far too early to assess restocking efforts, really. Beans, rice, meat, mac&cheese, frozen & canned veg, frozen meals, chocolate chips, sugar pretty picked over. Eggs gone at the small grocer with a note saying they'll get more tomorrow. Milk/bread/pasta/name brand cereals stocks low. I didn't look at disinfectants (we have vinegar, bleach, cheap vodka, hydrogen peroxide, and rags/paper towels here) or TP. I got sunflower seed, sausage links, & fish food because it's the third week of the month. Fresh veg because it's Tuesday. Kielbasa because I used the last pound for dinner on Friday. I stocked up on frozen veg last Monday because we were out and it was on sale. Should have gotten rice, but I didn't realise that it was the last bag - otoh, it's a nearly new 5pound bag, which should take a while to go through.
The formal letter from the FCB cancelling rehearsals was sent last Thursday evening, but I didn't get it. They now use a paid mailing-list manager which tracks whether an email got received/opened, so I got a re-send follow-up on Sunday.
But nature continues on. The crocuses and snow-drops in the door-side garden are blooming, and the early tulips in that bed are coming up; as are the bleeding hearts in the front garden. Saturday I made a first pass at yanking out the bramble in the doorside garden, in part because I needed the support it's been on for the hibiscus in the E garden. I cut back the milkweed and waxbell stems, and cleared some leaves from the E garden so the small irises didn't have to poke through leaves. The big dutch irises and peonies that I moved last fall are beginning to poke through the surface. Tomorrow (before it rains) I should go rake cottonwood branches and leaves. Bet the PT will love that on Thursday AM.
