Again with the fall rain. Today it's a mizzle -- not even heavy enough to call a drizzle, but actual drops falling so not mist. It's also 46F, so a great day to stay home. Unfortunately, I had places to go -- a lovely visit to the auto shop. This visit was not expensive (bad valve stem in a tire), but more stuff is needed - exhaust and tie-rod is scheduled for next week, and a full fluid change the next time I take her in for an oil change. It's to be expected, though. She's 12 years old, and 188K miles. And it's all going to be less money than two months of new car payments.

Sunday and yesterday were both nice, weatherwise. Dry and 60-ish, so I was able to get one of the peony clumps divided up and replanted; and another couple of clumps of irises are done. I also got a lot of weeding done in the E bed. There's still another clump of peonies to split, and two or three clumps of irises. Don't know if I'll get to them this fall or not. They've needed this work for a few years, and I doubt that waiting another year will do them much more harm. It is supposed to be warmer this weekend, so I may be able to get a bit more done out there. OTOH, it's hard on my back, and I have a visit to the hygienist on Friday, so my back may be too cranky to get anything done out there. We shall see.

Substitute conductor for FCB rehearsal on Monday - we've worked with him before, so he's used to us being somewhat snarky. On stage for rehearsal again - the bandroom heaters were running and it was uncomfortable in there. And half the stands were on stage anyway, as well as most of the percussion. In the course of the move from Harrison to North, one of the bandshells got broken. That will be fun to deal with. (What I don't understand is why they didn't get a cloud (ceiling) when they redid the stage at North -- then they wouldn't *need* the bandshells.)

I have a couple of teensy cuts from plant stems just under where the ktape goes on my wrist. It makes it a bit tricky to tape the thumb, as I really don't want to run the tape over the cuts. But I notice it if I don't tape, so ...
