LCCB vs Weather, 2019 4-2-1
Jul. 31st, 2019 10:54 amThe LCCB did play last night in Howell. It was a nice evening (78F at the start), if a bit on the sticky side. There was enough breeze to keep the bugs down without blowing music off the stands, but cloudcover made reading music a bit tricky as the evening went on. There is a reason why outdoor summer concerts start no later than 1930, unless there's a proper bandshell or pavilion with lights. The fireflies were waking up and coming up out of the roadside weeds as I was heading home, and that's always a good thing to see.
My thumb has informed me that yes, I really do need to practice 15-20 minutes a day if I want to keep playing. I can take about a week off from playing before it starts to lose flexibility.
I have been taking a break from weeding, now that there's nothing in dire need of it -- my back has been complaining about the workload for a couple of weeks, and at some point I really need to listen. Yesterday's yardwork consisted of cutting (more) daisies and picking up branches that came down during Monday's storms.
