So, spring.
Apr. 24th, 2014 06:50 pmActually seems to be on its way. Tuesday there were (leaf)buds on the lilac, the willow was beginning to show a haze, and there were a lot of hyacinth stems showing buds. Today, there are actual leaves on the lilac, the peony stems are five inches tall, and most of the hyacinths are actually blooming. The crown imperial is short, but does seem to have buds on it. OTOH, it's been 35F or so in the morning for the last few days, and there's not been much sun.
The FCB's spring concert is Sunday. This will be my last concert for a while -- my doc/PT have strongly recommended that I take the summer off, and they're probably right. My hand starts to hurt about halfway through rehearsal, and then hurts until tuesday night. It's all muscle soreness at this point, so I'm not doing any further damage by playing out the season. We did not get the brand new piece of music, but we did get music intended for the concert at rehearsal on Monday. And so it goes. I still haven't fixed my skirt -- it's been too cold in the basement, but now I've run out of time, so I need to put on my socks and my sweatshirt and get to work.
