Random observations
Aug. 25th, 2013 10:40 pm- a dark colored hardwood floor sounds very nice. In practice, every speck of dust shows up on it, especially if it's in a room on the south side of the house. I think I've dust mopped it every day for the last two weeks. I still like it, though.
- the night bugs in the backyard (with pond and field) are different than the night bugs in the front yard (with street and neighbors' yards).
- puppies are a lot of work. J offered to host a co-worker's puppy Saturday. It's been a long time since I've had a puppy *or* a toddler in the house, and he got in to everything. The cats did not approve of the puppy being here.
- today's frog count is 12.
- I need to remember to check the tomatoes tomorrow. And weed the strawberries and the tomatoes. I need time to do that, because I need gloves and shoes and long pants -- many of the weeds out there are thistles. Most of the rest of the gardens I can do without much preparation.
- HS football season starts Friday. DB has a game to play at. I am not snack mom for the band. I approve of this.
