scale back on the grumble.
Oct. 18th, 2008 01:41 pmWhile still holey, the taffeta is usable. The fabric isn't fragile at all, and the holes didn't get any bigger after washing and drying. I have to be careful when placing the pattern pieces to avoid the holes, but it seems to be bug damage, not age or water. The pattern has princess seams and a gored skirt, so it'll be fairly easy to avoid the holes. I need to get lining for that, but there's a 50% off coupon for next week, and I'll need lots of black lining in the near future (I'm making two faux leather formal skirts this fall).
J is off wrecking someone else's kitchen. Dunno if that means he'll do any work on the basement tomorrow.... I'm just waiting for the closet door to come crashing down from where it's leaning against the stairwell -- I hear it shift every time I walk past it. It'd be nice to get the cedar closet done, so I can get the formalwear (my wedding dress, my mother's wedding dress, my sister's prom dress, SR's prom dress, my wedding cloak, etc) into it, and out of the way.
Fed the Band yesterday -- only a couple of people actually made cookies, and SR was late through the feeding line so she didn't get any. But I kept some of each batch here (basic chocolate chip, oatmeal with cinnamon chip), so she got some anyway.
