Notes from Monday night....
Jan. 8th, 2008 09:02 amThe new sax case is very, very nice. It's a lot lighter than the old case, and is therefore much easier to get in to and out of the car.
The FCB concert on Confusion weekend is not going to be as "easy" (fsvo) as I thought. He's planning on pulling out some stuff from the December concert (not Postcard, thank ghod!), and we're going into the entire concert with a major time crunch (there was already a two week break in the rehearsal schedule, and then the last rehearsal in December was cancelled on account of Farmington schools having a snow day).
It was very odd driving home last night. I got into the car, and the first thing I heard when I turned on the radio was 'Tornado watch for the entire listening area', followed by 'severe thunderstorm warning for Livingston and Washtenaw county'. Um. That's the way I go home. They weren't kidding. Lots of lighting. High winds (I'm quite glad I wasn't driving the van), and bursts of rain so dense that it was hard to see the road. By the time I got off the expressway, the wind had mostly passed (good, because I really don't like driving tree-lined roads in high winds), but I still had to watch for branches in the road and the bursts of heavy rain.
