Time is failing...
Feb. 7th, 2007 09:02 pmafter all, isn't the purpose of time to keep everything from happening at once? I'm now currently double-booked for the last weekend of -MARCH-, and this week got another opportunity for that weekend. (131st Annual Egg Supper at church Friday night, stage rehearsal Friday night, concert Saturday night, sing in church Sunday morning, possible solo.)
This weekend is a mess, what with Cap, a school field trip to see the DSO, a HS band concert Monday night and a FCB rehearsal against that. (There's also the FCB Dinner Dance Friday night, but I'm ignoring that. La la la la.....) It's the pre-Festival concert, so I'll have another chance to hear the show as the MSBOA Festival is in Chelsea. We're still getting new music in FCB for that concert at the end of March, so SR is going to have to play well without me in the audience. It looks as though I didn't completely butcher the solo I sight-read at the memorial service in November, as we're getting that piece back in the folder. The rest of the stuff we're getting is tricky*, and I really don't think I can afford to miss a rehearsal.
jebra was able to give us more space in the row...I'm sure the first Horn is happy about that. :)
And in another indication that time is failing, there are some empty (fsvo) days in my schedule....stuff just congregates on the busy weekends.
* Let's just say that Copland writes for strings, and doesn't translate easily to Wind Symphony
